Why has the rollout approach become more popular in recent years? What are its disadvantages?

Rollout approach :-

It is a well developed strategy to introduce a new product or service in the market. To generate the interest of the consumers, a rollout sometimes use marketing campaign for the product introduction. Some rollouts can be used to serve a particular market segment.

One of the reasons rollout has become so popular is that it can be used in any situation such as it can be sued for the ERP or can be used to make a product successful or can be used to save a product from it's failure stage. It modifies and improves many business areas and thereby reduce the risk occurrence. It also reduces the implementation costs. Thus, overall it leads to increase in productivity of an organization.

Disadvantages :-

The rollout process is very difficult to change once it has been established as it is very rigid.
