Given 40 trucks per day

each truck has 36 pallets, so a total number of pallets or loads = 40 x 36 = 1440 pallets or loads.

given each pallet loading/unloading takes 5 minutes so 1440 pallets takes 1440 x 5 = 7200 minutes.

since each day has 1440 minutes for the work to complete we need (7200/1440) = 5 docks to complete the work.

therefore 5 docks are required

note: Number of docks changes if working hours in a day are changed, the above calculation is done based on 24 hours work in a day.
