Write a program in MATLAB to compute the 1-dimensional discrete
cosine
transform (1D - DCT) of a signal.
Directly MATLAB function is there we can use that function.
The function is
Y= dct(X) ; it will give discrete cosine transform of X and it will be stored in Y. Here the size of both X and Y are same.
(or)
Y= dct(X,N) ; it will give dct of X and it will be stored in Y. Here the size Y is truncated to N before transforming.
Write a program in MATLAB to compute the 1-dimensional discrete cosine transform (1D - DCT) of a signal.
Discrete Cosine Transform. a. On the 256x256 grayscale image kobi.png, calculate the two-dimensional Discrete Cosine Transform using dct2. Output the results: the input image, and the DCT image. b. Take the DCT image in (a), and apply the two-dimensional inverse DCT image. Subtract that from the original kobi.png image, and plot the image of the absolute value of the differences. Does the entire image have zero values? Why not?
