Ans:- An organizational unit is a sub division within an active directory into which we can place users, groups, and computer also other organizational unit.

We can create organizational unit to mirror our organiszational function and the business structure.

Each domain can implements its own organizational hierarchy. If we have several domain, so we can create organizational unit in each domain that is independent.

How to create organizational unit

To create an organizational unit (OU) in server , so first of all we need the membership of the account operators group, Domain admin group in Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS).

Now we need to understand that how to create an organizational unit.

For that we need to follow some steps to create the organizational unit.

Step 1: open the windows server 2012.

step 2: Open the server manager

step 3: now click on active directory domain services, you can show lots of options out of that select Active directory Users and computers

Once open the active directory and user computer. you will show your domain that you have created. then Right click on that domain drop down menu , on that menu select 'new' option you will see the options like computer, contacts, group etc options from them select organizational unit.

Now click on Organizational unit you will show screen like this
