Answer-

  • This is the pitot static tube which is used to determine the speed of flow inside the pipe.
  • For determining the speed of flow in pitot static tube, we need the static head, dynamic head and stagnation head. Static head + dynamic head = stagnation head
  • Here, two exit ports are connected to manometers which direclty give the values of pressure.
  • The P exit port give the value of static pressure, P0 exit port give the value of stagnation pressure.
  • This two values can be used to determine the value of dynamic pressure as dynamic pressure = Stagnation pressure - static pressure. Dynamic pressure, \frac{\rho U^{2}}{2} = P_{0} - P
  • Speed   U = \sqrt{\frac{2(P_{0}- P)}{\rho }}
