I need to come up with a small in class Experiment for a mini presentation. What is a simple statistics example I can use with my class mates being the test subjects.

Solution:

1. To teach simple descriptive statistics like frequency distribution:

Ask students their favourite subject out of any 5 subjects and record their response on the board to the corresponding subject. Likewise, ask every student and keep on making record of the same till the last student gives a response. Hence, the data on the board using tally marks is a data which can be further worked on for creating different charts and for analysing and making further inferences.

2. To show how X being a random variable denoting height of a student follows normal distribution:

Ask all students their height (in cms) and create a histogram of the same. The histogram more or less will show a bell shaped curve which means that height of the students in that class can be approximated to follow normal distribution.
