Answer #1

2)the life cycle and end of stars depend mainly on the mass of the star. More massive stars live very short life and they end their life in more violent way compared to small stars. The main process that takes place inside the star is nuclear fusion in which hydrogen fuses into helium and helium to other heavy elements during its cycle. stars that are more massive than sun reaches a point when fusion inside the core of star converts helium to other elements. This sudden event causes an outward pressure which expands the star outwards to form massive red giants(sun also forms red giant). After this phase massive stars explodes its outer layer into a tremendous supernovae emitting most of its mass. So most of its masses are shattered outside the star to form structures known as nebula. So the star end up being a nuetron star or black holes. our star would become a white dwarf (Chandrashekar limit). This is the reason for a reduction in mass of star during its final days.

9)all the heavy elements on our earth was formed from supernova explosion which created a planetary nebula billions of years ago. Supernova explosions have enough energy and temperature to carry out fusion for heavier elements.
