1) Archimedes used water displacement method that determines the volume of crown and can find the weight of crown.

where the volume of water displaced = volume of the crown or mass of water displaced = mass of crown then the crown would be pure solid crown.

If the gold is not of pure solid gold then the volume of water displaced will vary due to various densities of other metals.

2) Gold is densest substance with relative density with that of water/fluid = 1.93 g/ml

But when it is mixed with other less valuable metals like copper or bronze. Then it's relative density decreases or increases based on the density of copper or bronze.

As the relative density of copper is 8.92 g/ml then the relative density of crown decreases than that of pure gold.

3) The relationship between object density, liquid density and the tendency of object to float :

Object density is determined by comparing its mass to that of volume.

Liquid density is density of the fluid i.e. either water etc

When object density is more than liquid density then the object sinks and when object density is less than liquid density then the object floats or swims.

4) As experimental data is not given we cannot estimate whether object float in that liquid or not.

According to Archimedes principle when an object is partially or completely immersed into the liquid then it is buoyed by a force equal to the weight of fluid displaced by the object.

But as explained if the denser of the liquid than the object density, then the object floats on the float and if the object density is more than that of liquid density, then the object sinks.
