Process can be defined as a series of steps and actions that are performed by consuming resources that ends up resulting in achievement of an objective. For example, applying for universities is a process that requires various different steps such as writing SOP, filling the application form, etc. These are some of the steps that needs to be completed to achieve the process of applying to a university.

Process integration is a phenomenon where two or more processes share information, communicate between them and connect with each other to make the whole system a smoother. An example of process integration is online shopping where the cart system and the online payment system works closely with one another. It is extremely difficult to tell them apart even when these two processes work apart from one another on an online shopping site.

One of the example of process at our workplace is the process of leave application. In this process, there are three steps. First one is where we contact our supervisor and place a request for leave. In the second process the request either gets granted or rejected. Finally, if the request is approved, we enter the leave details in the HR system. This is completes the process of leave application.
