KINEMATICS AND KINETICS OF A PARTICLE Problem 1 (15 Pts.) The 2.3 Mg (Mega grams) mine car is being pulled by the winch M mounted on the car. If the winch exerts a force of F (367t2) Newton on the cable, where t is in seconds, determine the power output of the winch when t - 12 s, starting from rest.
The crate, which has a mass of 232 kg, is subjected to the action of the two forces. If it is originally at rest, determine the distance it slides in order to attain a speed of 4.5 m/s. The coefficient of kinetic friction between the crate and the surface is μ = 0.3. 1000 N 800 N 30y

Answer #1

In the first question first of all we will make free body diagram of winch/ car. After that we will find the value of velocity at t= 12second. After this we will get the power output 5621.8 watt or 5.6128 kilowatt.

In the second question we will again make the free body diagram of the crate. The value of the distance it slides s= 9.762m.
