In the first graph ( left hand side), the value of y decreases (vertical axis) as the value of x (horizontal) axis increases, hence the correlation coefficient comes out to be negative.

From option it can be -0.5

From 2nd graph on right hand side, the correlation is positive as the values increases simultaneously, but the correction is not that strong as the proportion of changes in x and y are not equal.

So it can be around 0.5

Answer : (d) -0.5, 0.5
