Mindful denotes that the person is aware of his environment, and social values, and his/her duties toward the community.

I have selected my uncle who is the boss of his organization, and I have observed that he never discussed any matter regarding his office at home, except when he finds something really interesting and gives some lesson to us, he is calm relax and most of the time satisfied with his staff. I told him that I have learned the art of mindfulness, and I want to interview him to judge myself with respect to him as a mindful leader,

I asked him the first question that what he feels as his status as a boss whether “you consider not to be the boss even though you are the boss”.

He answered me that if all the bosses start acting like a boss, means sitting in a big cabin and ordering the sub-staff then it is not right as per his view,  he told me that “I treats all his staff at an equal level, I gives them respect, so I get respect from them, I enquire about their family problems, and try to keep personal relationship with them, so that they should not hesitate, in bringing to his notice regarding the work progresses , or where they require some changes to be done, I do not treat myself superior to them, but I become one of them, giving suggestions and taking suggestion from them when once they feel that their feelings and ideas are heard they come up with various schemes and ideas that I note down for the benefit of the business, because some of the best suggestions come by interacting with the people”.

My second question to him was what makes him happy, His answer was simple, that one does not have to go in search of happiness, it comes to you if you have created an atmosphere where you can trust your staff and staff trust you,-you will be happy, he said as we were discussing about the organization, it is the motivation, and fair competition makes you happy.

I asked him what it takes to be a good leader, he said to be a good leader, one should have leadership qualities, of patience, knowledge about the work, and grip on your business, a leader should have dedication because a leaders dedication motivates the staff, a decision making quality, under adverse conditions also, one should not get panic, but think calmly, because if the leader loses the temper, it will go against the ethics of organization, so to be a good leader, one has to work taking all the staff together, without prejudice.

I asked him did he read any book on the leadership, he said yes, he has read books on leadership, it is not only organizational leadership, but it is country leadership also, because leadership quality is required in all the field, and the organization itself has its internal politics, one must be aware of the politics before it goes out of hand, and leaders can learn from the biography of other leaders, and the article regarding leadership, it is very important to have positive quality, that can make the atmosphere in the organization light and comfortable.

I had taken his permission and noted down the points for the reference to compare with how a leader can become successful I came to know that if one does not show his dedication towards work and respect to his fellow workers, one cannot become a good leader. He/she should not allow the ego to come in his way.
