45-64, these twenty years in one’s midlife brings one lots of challenges and opportunities. Someone in this stage would either have a secure job, fulfilling family, enough social affiliation, a sense of pride in the life decisions one made and feel happy about one’s life. On the other hand, someone who didn’t have a fulfilling life with the above said criteria would feel disappointed and unhappy about one’s life. It’s all about generativity vs stagnation in Erikson’s stages of development. This doesn’t mean one would have this crisis throughout that twenty years but there is always a scope for improvement thus people who are resilient would go through the crisis and come out successfully.
