2) In right sided CHF, the right chamber has lost its ability to pump blood. As a result of this, right side of heart can't fill with enough blood, and the blood enters back into the veins. This results into swelling of legs, ankles, abdomen, etc.

In diastolic left sided CHF, the left ventricle loses its ability to relax normally because of the muscular stiffness.
