The acute pain causes as a result of some tissue injury and it results from the activation of peripheral pain receptors .
The chronic pain is caused by some tissue injury which is ongoing from some time . It is caused due to persistent activation of specific A delta and C sensory nerve fibers . It can also be due to chronic damage to the central or the peripheral nervous system .
The nociceptive pain could be somatic or visceral. Its receptors are located in skin , tissues , subcutaneous tissues , connective tissues etc. The pain could vary from mild to moderate to variable degrees.
