A patient has a history of moderate persistent asthma for which he takes a combination inhaler of budesonide and formoterol. He also takes montelukast daily. His asthma has been fairly well controlled with this medication. The patient calls the health care provider’s office to report that he is experiencing some difficulty breathing, and feels congested in his chest. He also reports that he is wheezing. He asks if he should use his rescue inhaler or albuterol.

ALBUTEROL :

Albuterol is bronchodilator which relaxes the muscles around the airways and helps to increase the air flows in the lungs, It is used to prevent any bronchospasm as the name suggests bronchodilator.

Therefore, in the scenerio given above albuterol helps by relaxing the muscles around the airways and by relieving the congestion.
