Allocating costs of :

$             -   $                -   $ 660,500 $ 1,816,000 $ 1,336,500
c) Reciprocal method
Let the total cost of IT and Operations be x and y
x = $ 562000 + 10% of y or, x = $ 562000 + 0.1y (i)
y = $ 1680000 + 20% of x or, y = $ 1680000 + 0.2x (ii)
Putting the value of x in equation (ii), we get
y = $ 1680000 + 0.2( $ 562000 + 0.1y)
y = $ 1680000 + $ 112400 + 0.02y
0.98y = $ 1792400
y = $ 1828980 approx
Putting the value of y in equation (i), we get
x = $ 562000 + 0.1($ 1828980)
x = $ 562000 + $ 182898
x = $ 744898
Claims

Costs $        562,000 $        1,680,000 $      310,000 $          611,000 $          650,000
