One of my peer has done research study on teenagers on the factors causing obesity .
The findings were the causes of obesity in teenagers are :-
- Sedentary lifestyle
- Unhealthy eating habits like eating while watching TV , eating junk foods etc.
- No exercise
- Some of them had hereditary issues
- Some of the population were having corticosteroid for the treatment of particular disease like adrenal insufficiency.
- Increased alcohol intake
- Stress and depression leads to eating disorders and cause obesity.
Implications drawn from the study was that the major risk for obesity was the unhealthy eating habits . Out of 100% only 10% were due to medications or hereditary and stress issues rest of them were due to unhealthy eating habits and sedentary lifestyle.
