1.Denna, 27 presents at the physician offices with excessively heavy menstruation. she tells the nurse that recently she experiened pain "first in my back" and then going every part of my body". she states that she is often bothered by constipation and vomiting when she eats and had suffered from seizure and still has not knowing what symptoms Denna wants the physician to evaluate.Denna tells the nurse that she lives at home with her parents because her poor health makes it had for her to hold a job.

2. Henry, 47, a laborer "pulled a muscle" in his back a year ago. Two weeks before this his wife, a waitress told him that she wanted to go back to school to get her bachelor's degree. He suffers severe constant pain despite negative results from myelography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging and neurological examinations. he watches television all day and collects disability. His wife is unable now to go to school, waits on him and has assumed his home responsibilities, Henry displace his anxiety over the threat on his own self-esteem by his wife's potential change of status onto "Pain in his back" Focus of his anxiety is now on his back and not his threatened self -esteem.

Case 1:

Diagnosis of the patient: Uterine Fibroids.

Uterine fibroids are noncancerous growth of the uterus which usually occurs during child bearing age.  

Many women who have fibroids are asymptomatic. Symptomatic women can be influenced by the location, size and number of fibroids.

1. Heavy menstrual bleeding

2. Menstrual periods lasting more than a week

3. Back ache radiating to leg pain

4. Constipation

5. Nausea

This is due to two hormones (estrogen and progesterone) that stimulate development of the uterine lining during each menstrual cycle.

Case 2:

Diagnosis of the patient: chronic low back pain

Chronic low back pain may originate from an injury, disease or stresses on different structures of the body.

The type of pain may vary greatly and may be felt as bone pain, nerve pain or muscle pain.

The source of pain is not known or cannot be specifically identified.

The condition or injury that triggered the pain may be completely healed and undetectable, but the pain may still continue to affect the patient.
