a) Some of the other advantages of using AR e-commerce other than the points mentioned in the above passage are

  1. Engaging the customer: The augmented reality e-commerce enables the customers to view and analyze the product online, as they would be viewing directly in the shop. This gives the customer a feel better experience of the product. Almost close to 60% of the online shoppers prefer using augmented reality e-commerce.
  2. Customization experience: Most customer would have liked the design of the product, but would prefer a different color on them. This AR e-commerce allows the customers to customize the product according to their liking before making a purchase on it. They could tweak the color and some other minor parts in the products before making a purchase.
  3. Increased shopping time: With the AR e-commerce, online shoppers spend more time looking at the products, when compared to the non AR customers. The more time the shopper spends on a particular product, the most likely that he is going to purchase that product. Hence AR e-commerce generally increases the sales of the product.

b) Some of the disadvantages of using AR e-commerce are:

  1. Since all the customers private data is available online, there is a possibility of a serious security breach and a theft of personal details. These personal data of the customers could be stored elsewhere and could be put to illegal use by fraudsters.
  2. There is a possibility that the real feature could be modified. At times customer may not get to realize the actual end use, a particular product was initially designed to satisfy. Augmented reality tends to shatter the difference between the real and the digital world at times. Over reliance of technology some times masks the real life dangers, and would make the users be less cautious.
