In statistics, standard deviation (std dev) is used to measure the dispersion or variability from an average or mean. In other words, it is used to measure volatility. A low value of std dev indicates that many of the numbers are very close to the average. On the other hand, A high value of std dev indicates that the numbers are dispersed far away. It is the most robust measure of variability because it consider about how every value in the dataset varies from the mean.

As in the given table std dev values are high for Inpatient Coding Specialist II in comparison to Inpatient Coding Specialist I but lower than std dev values for Ambulatory Surgery Coding Specialist. Which shows that data set for Inpatient Coding Specialist I are close to mean number and vice versa for Inpatient Coding Specialist II and Inpatient Coding Specialist I.
