Poorest metabolism of medication occurs in the patient with alcoholic liver cirrhosis. because the liver has a great role in the metabolism of medication. Metabolism consists of anabolism and catabolism of drugs (Biotransformation of the drug) which is nessesary for body to use the drug and which also helps in the elimination of drug. In cirrhosis of the liver, liver cells are damaged and gradually cells are transformed into scar tissue. A damaged liver can not able to metabolize the drug.
