Question 15 (3 points) The owner of a small bookstore wants to analyze the relationship between the price of books and the number of pages of each book. The independent variable is the number of pages and the dependent variable is the price (in $s). After collecting the data, the owner generated the following regression analysis summary: SUMMARY OUTPUT Regression Stotistics 0.750271004 Multiple R 0.562906579 R Square Adjusted R Square 0.475487895 Standard Error 0980514871 Observations ANOVA 0.052048358 Regression 1 6.191972373 6.191972 6.439202 5 4.808027627 0961606 Residual Total Coefficients Standord Error r Scat P value 1.041553442 2.377174109 0438148 0.679562 0.009907156 0.003904208 2.537558 0.052048 ntercep Pages At the 1% significance level, test the slope of the regression model to determine if the relationship between the price and the number of pages is significant. From options #1 to #4, select the correct hypotheses for this test. From options #5 to #8, select the correct p-value for this test. From options #9 to #12, select the correct conclusion for this test. 1)Ho: A=0

Answer #1

2.

H_0: \beta_1=0\;\; vs\;\; H_a:\beta_1 \neq 0

Because  61 denotes the slope in the regression line and we have to test the slope of the regression model

.

6.p-value = 0.6796

Since test is corresponding to the slope we have to consider the p-value in ANOVA table corresponding to slope.

.

10. Based on the sample, there is not enough evidence to conclude that there is a significant relationship between price and the independent variable "number of pages"

Because the p-value is greater than level of significance and therefore we do not have enough evidence to reject null hypothesis.
