Chiropractic medicine is a form of alternative medicine. chiropractic techniques include manual therapy, especially spinal manipulation therapy(SMT), manipulations of other joints and soft tissues.

Origin : chiropractic medicine was found in 1890s by DD Palmer. He claimed that he has received chiropractic medicine from some other world. His son BJ Palmer promoted chiropractic in the early 20th century.

Treatment uses : it is mainly used to treat musculoskeletal problems like back pain, neck pain, conditions related to spine like scoliosis, headache.

Techniques : the most common technique used by chiropractors is spinal manipulation. The spine is manipulated through passive maneuvers by taking the joints beyond the normal range of motion but not as far to damage them. Other techniques include corrective or therapeutic exercise, ergonomic/postural advice, self-care strategies, activities of daily living, nutritional/dietary recommendations, relaxation/stress reduction techniques, cryotherapy, extremity adjustment, trigger point therapy.
