REST stands for Representational State Transfer.

REST is a description or concept.It is an architectural style it is not a protocol.
Advantages:
--> RESTful Web Services are fast because there is no
strict rules like SOAP. It requires less
bandwidth and resource.
--> Language and Platform independent: REST is language independent and it does not dependent on any language.

RESTful web services can use SOAP
web services as the implementation because rest is description or concept.
Rest allows different data format: RES web service
allows different data format such as Plain Text, HTML,
XML and JSON.

.If we enter using election commission online mobile app.server should react to incoming requests with status codes.By using status codes and condition rest react to resources.It identify the request by using the web page having methods,urls.
