Explain the functions of vitamins in our food. Describe the difference between Fat and Water Soluble vitamins. What are the pro's and con's to vitamin supplements? Do you take supplements, if so what and why?  


Minerals -

1.Functions of vitamins

They activate enzymes in the conversion of macro nutrients into energy.

They help the process of other nutrients are abdorbed, digested and metsbolized or built into body structures.

b Fat Soluble vitsmins

  • It can be stored in fat tisdues or cells.
  • It includes vitamin A, D, E&K
  • Stored in liver and adipose tissue

Water Soluble Vitamin

  • Dissolve in water
  • It includes vitamin B and C.
  • They are co-enzyme important for energy production.

Pros

  • Orevents deficiencies
  • Gain muscle
  • Lose weight
  • Improve athlete performance.

Cons

  • Label does not always ith what is in the bottle.
  • Supplement s maybe contaminated.

Minerals

  • It helps in temperature regulation.
  • It fludhes out tocins and waste.
  • It form the fluids that surround the joint.
  • Moisterutizes the air lungs
  • Helps to relieve constipation.

BThese foods can cause serious health relate risks as they all have diet related problems if consumed in large quantities.
