Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) have two payment tracts under Quality Payment Program (QPP). They are Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) and Advanced Alternative Payment Models (AAPM'S).

The Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) have four performance categories. They are quality, cost, improvement activities and advancing care information (ACI). The quality performance requires clinicians to report on six measures. For a measure to receive performance score there must be atleast 20 cases. There are measures which can be reported for bonus points. The data collection methods used for quality measures are Electronic Health Records (EHS), CMS web interface, chart abstractions, registries, assessment instruments, reported or collected claims.
