1)Office study of existing information-It includes examination of available data of area.

2) Reconnaissance survey-This survey is done to identify several feasible routes.

3)Preliminary location survey-This survey is done to set position of feasible routes as closely as possible by establishing all control points and determining preliminary vertical and horizontal alignments.

4)Final location survey-It includes detailed layout of selected routes.
