Nasal polyps are painless, non-cancerous, growth of nasal lining in our nasal passage like the bunch of grapes. It is caused by chronic inflammation in nose. It can damage the nerves, responsible for our smell. So, we can't smell efficiently.

The nervous connection from the tongue is travelling through nasal chamber. If nasal polyps destroy such taste nerves by any chance then we can loss our power of taste.
