As we know, unlike copper cables fiber optic cables do not conduct electricity. There is no possibility of producing any electromagnetic currents in fiber optic cabling and hence they are impervious to Electromagnetic interference.

Because of above reason there would be no electric current traveling through the core that makes fiber optic cabling free from fire hazard which in turn protects our infrastructure.

Also, they are stronger than other types of cabling like copper cabling so we do not have to keep replacing then frequently resulting in making lesser number of damages to the infrastruction by repairing work.
