Answer #1

Balanced equation is,

2NH4Cl (aq)+ Cu(NO3)2(aq) =2 NH4NO3 + CuCl2(s)

What we need is IE and NIE.

IE means ionic equation.

NIE means net ionic equation.

for IE we need to seperate all the molecules into their ionic form

for example NaCl into Na+ and Cl-.

let's write an IE for given equation.

2NH4+ + 2Cl- + Cu+2 + 2 NO3- = 2 NH4 + + 2NO3- +CuCl2(s)

Now the question arises that why I have written CuCl2 in solid form because NH4NO3 is also solid.

in this case the higher soluble solid will be written as ions.so NH4NO3 IS MORE WATER SOLUBLE THAN CUCl2.

Now for NIE, we need to cancel out spectator ions in IE.

Spectator ions are those which are present in both side of equation having same mole and charge .

So we will cancel out spectator ions and get our NIE.

we will cancel out NH4 and NO3 ions from both the side of equation.

so NIE is,

2Cl- + Cu+2 = CuCl2 (s).

PLEASE GIVE A THUMBS UP IF IT REALLY HELPS YOU.

THANK YOU.
