As per the latest reports by the U.S. Bureau of Public Debt, the US net public debt to GDP ratio in 2017 was close to 105.4%

This means the US net public debt exceeded its GDP.

As compared to other major economies like UK, China, US holds the highest net public debt as a percentage of GDP. However, US is preceded by Japan having the highest ratio (more than 200%)
