Some of the terms that you would see in the medical record that would indicate that the service was an inpatient service is by codes- ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS and MS-DRGs.

The medical record manual should be used for procedures and coding manual is used for CPT and ICD-10-CM coding .
