Why is it important to dry the crude cyclohexene prior to the final distillation?
during the synthesis of cyclohexene, the cyclohexanol and acid is heated. And cyclohexene and water is produced.
Before the final product is obtained, initially we obtain crude cyclohexene. Crude cyclohexene is actually cyclohexene with water and other impurities.it is actually very important to dry this crude cyclohexene before the final distillation process.
" Because if any amount of water is present that it will interfere the distillation, also ,the water present in the crude will Co distill and this will not separate before the final distillation.
this is why all the water present in the crude must be remove by drying before the final distillation process

Why is it important to dry the crude cyclohexene prior to the final distillation?
What visual criterion is to be used to assess whether the reaction mixture is dry prior to distillation?
In the Dehydration of Cyclohexanol (used Cyclohexanol to get Cyclohexene), we had to do distillation twice. Why is that? My TA said it had something to do with Azeotropes but I can't figure out why.
why must synthesized crude tertiary alkyl halide be dried carefully with calcium chloride before the distillation for purifying purpose? (try to answer what kind of reaction could be happening with water and alkyl halide?)
In the process of the purification of cyclohexene, we used a saturated NaCl solution to wash the crude product instead of the same volume of pure water. Explain why.
Why is HETP important? Why not just use theoretical plates to measure the efficiency of a fractional distillation head?
HELP- easy question. Question: 7.2 grams of crude product was obtained. Following distillation, 5.8 grams of crude product was obtained. 1.) what is the percent of crude yield? 2.) what is the percent of yield ? 3.) what is the percent of the recovery ?
When performing the distillation, why is the position of the thermometer, at the entrance to the condenser, important? Why should it not be placed into the distillation flask?
The hydrogen sulfide in a 50.0-g sample of crude petroleum was removed by distillation and collected in a solution of CdCl_2. The precipitated CdS was then filtered, washed, and ignited to CdSO_4. Calculate the percentage of H_2Sin the sample if 0.108 g of CdSO_4 was recovered.
Why is it important to oven dry or flame dry glassware before setting up a Grignard reagent formation or a Grignard reaction? Organomagnesium reagents react readily with water faster than with the desired starting material, lowering the overall yield Water will make the reaction blow up Wet glassware is slippery Too many salts will form in the reaction
