Answer: Alcohol withdrawal syndrome occurs when alcohol addicted person stop drinking alcohol. Due to this, abnormalities in the behavior may occur. So, one should be alert for the abnormal behavior of the patient.

It is important to assess that the patient is mentally fit for the withdrawal. Patient understands that these are the symptoms due to lowering or eliminating the heavy consumption of alcohol.

Some of the complications may occur such as:

  • Stressed conditions
  • Increased palpitations
  • Person may experience depression or anxiety.
  • Anger
  • Bipolar disorder.

Intervention includes such as monitoring the mental status of the patient. Providing medicines for antidepressants, medications to lower the desire of alcohol.
