As a person I have firm belief in respecting individuals and I find my self in very comfortable position while making the decision collaboratively, ethically I am bound to social norms and my actions are mainly based for outcome which are good for society at large. It is also very important for me to be morally considered to be responsible for group for which I am working and responsible for success and failure. Culturally I belief in diversity of culture and a diverse cultural environment let me express my self in best possible manner. As far as my communication style in concerned I prefer to communicate openly in my group there is no secret in my group or any intragroup difference which I would try to create.

In case of any conflict arises in my group I would prefer to take the opinion of my team and then accordingly reach on the conclusion as what is there which is right for the group and what is there which is not right for the group. I leave it on group’s collaborative decision making to solve any conflict which comes up with in the group.

The above personality traits and the way I have reflected on my values, culture, decision making, conflict resolution and my actions with in the group and being socially responsible denotes my leadership style and As per my assessment my leadership style is: Democratic.

Democratic leadership is also called as participative leadership style, since I have a team which have highly skilled team members and I prefer to take any decision after consulting my team, every team decision is taken after consensus from team. In workplace organization this is the most preferred leadership style.

Along with time definition for leadership has also changes and it is no more just telling people what to rather now leadership is about leading the people from front and with example. They should have capability to find direction and show direction to people who follows them and motivate them in difficult situations to achieve larger objectives.

Leadership styles helps in understanding the process of decision making in organization and who influences the decisions. It also helps in understanding the various elements of decision-making process and how leadership style helps in making the most suitable decisions in organizations.

Like Transformational leadership style creates thriving work culture in organization, which is most desirable in organization, whereas charismatic leadership styles attract and inspire people through their charm.

Outcome learned as a result of self-assessment:

This self-assessment helped me to understand my leadership style in a better way, as what are the different traits of my leadership and how this leadership style act or behave under different situation does it changes under different situation with time or remain constant, so I found that this remains constant and does not changes like situational leadership style.

It also helped me to clearly understood and differentiate my leadership style from other leadership style.

Knowing your leadership style also helps you to better understand your different personality traits and its implication or impact on your leadership style. Along with the personality traits your cultural background value, ethical ground, moral perspective etc leads to shape your leadership style. A person’s leadership style of sum of all the above given traits and its reflection in leadership style.

Once the leadership style is clearly established, it also helps in better understanding of the team which you lead and you are able to express yourself in the best expressive way which you should have.

One of the most important aspect of my leadership style (which is democratic leadership style) is to inspire and lead people in democratic manner where in all the members who are there in my group should feel to be valued and their significant in group’s decision-making process. Any decision related to matter which solely belongs to group or belongs to society at large must be taken after taking input from all the team members and the view of majority prevails in my decision-making process. I rarely make any decision which was not backed up by the team members view at majority.

However, it is very difficult to clearly explain all the definition of this particular leadership style which applies to all the social group either large or small.
