Acute renal failure is sudden loss of kidney functions leading to stagnation of liquid waste or excretes in the body.

Diagnosis :

  • Decreased or no urine output
  • Increased Blood urea nitrogen
  • Increased Creatinine level

These are a clear indicator for acute renal failure

  • Renal ultrasonograph are first line modality
  • CT scan and MRI are suggested later

Treatment :

Medication:

  • Diuretics to induce urine output
  • Vasopresor to I creams blood pressure
  • Dehydration treatment with IV fluid
  • potassium reducing drugs

Medical procedure :

  • Hemodialysis
  • Urethral stent in case of stenosis
  • wire mesh stent ,this reduces vascular pressure in liver thereby reducing the work load of kidney
  • Liver dialysis is a newer technology method to detoxifying
  • Urinary catheterization to drain urine
