PRE-OPERATIVE DIAGNOSIS: Orbital lesion, OS-left eye POSTOPERATIVE DIAGNOSIS: Orbital lesion, pathology pending PROCEDURE: Patient was prepped with proparacaine instilled in the left eye and 2% Lidocaine with 1:200,000 epinephrine injected in the superior aspect of the left orbit. The upper lid was everted and a herniated lesion was located and measured at 0.50 cm in diameter. The herniated lesion was clamped and excised. Cauterization was then used to stop the bleeding. The mass was sent to pathology. The superior fornix was repaired and antibiotic ointment was applied to the eye. An eye pad was placed over the eye. The patient tolerated the procedure well and was in good condition when sent to the operating area. ICD-10-CM CODE (Principal Diagnosis): ICD-10-PCS CODE:

Orbital lesions can be of benign or malignant origin ant commonly arises in the orbit area. Diagnostic procedure plays an important role in identifying the type of tumors and its severity. CT and MRI is an excellent source to confirm the benign or malignancy of the lesions. Orbital tumors leads to disturbance of eye sight. It also contributes to the corneal damage, diplopia, bulging of eyeball. Treatment involves in removal of orbital lesion and send for pathology studies to identify the benign or malignancy nature of the lesions. If the orbital tumors are not removed using surgical measures an external beam radiation can be used to treat the lesions.
