Cl , C , O , N , H and I are nonmetals.

Hence, Ionic compounds are CaF2 , CoBr2, MnO.

Covalent compounds are Cl2CO, NCl3, HI.

Polarity increases with difference in electronegativity between bonding atoms

Fluorine is more electronegative than Chlorine hence HF is more polar HCl.

b)

Nitrogen is more electronegative than Carbon, hence NO is more polar than CO.

C)

Oxygen is more electronegative than Sulfur, hence OH is polar than SH.

d)

Cl is electronegative atom. So less electronegative atom forms more polar bond with Cl.

Electronegativity of Phosphorous is less than Sulfur.

Hence, difference between electronegativity between P and Cl is higher than that of S and Cl.

So, PCl bond is more polar than SCl bond.

e)

Nitrogen is more electronegative than Carbon hence NH bond is more polar than CH.

f)

Oxygen is electronegative. Phosphorous has less electronegativity than sulfur.

So, difference between electronegativity between S and O is less than P and O.

Hence, PO bond is more polar.
