Answer #1

Between April 1 and May 1, the prices have increased by 3.85-3.35 or $0.50 or 50 cents which is the same as 0.50/3.35*100= 14.9%

Between May 1 and June 1, the prices have decreased by 3.35-3.85 or $0.50 or 50 cents which is the same as 0.50/3.85*100= 12.98%

When Bob's price was 3.35, the other station price was= (1.2)*3.35= (1+20/100)*3.35=4.02

When Bob’s price was 3.85, the other station price was= (1.2)*3.85= 4.62

Thus the absolute difference between these prices would be= 4.62-4.02= 60 cents or $0.60

When the target rate was increased from 2% to 2.25% which is a change of 25 percentage points means that the target was increased by approximately (2.25-2)/2*100= 12.5%
