Answer #1

Ans: (a). I am considering the electron pair and the geometry of the molecule. Carbon 1 does not have any extra electron pair and it is SP3 hybridized and the geometry is tetrahedral. Second carbon is also contained no extra electron pair and the carbon is SP2 hybridized and the geometry is trigonal planer. The nitrogen atom consists of one electron pair which resides on the SP3 hybrid orbital and the geometry is tetrahedral.

The C-C-O bond angle is 120 degree and the C-N-H is 109degree 28min.

(b) Carbon 1 is SP3, 2 is SP2 and the nitrogen is SP3.

(c). C-C is a single bond and this is a sigma bond, In the case of C-O it is a double bond and one sigma and another one is pi bond. C-N also the sigma bond and this is a single bond in character.
