  • For the EPA 5 method,the impinger collect is not considered to be the particulate matter.

So the concentration of the PM in the stack is = 1.5 103 2.785 ug/m = 538.6 ug/m3

  • PM emission rate = ( Volumetric flow rate ) * ( Density of exhaust gas ) * ( Concentration of PM )
      = ( Velocity of gas * Area of stack ) * ( Density of exhaust gas ) * ( Concentration of PM )
    =PM (Velocity (concentration)kg/s Area of stack) * (RT
  • = 45028.97 103) 52 (20 4 -)*8.314 560,928 (538.6 10)kg/s 760
    = 1.2963 * 10 -6 kg/s
  • PM emissions for a day =  ( 1.2963 * 10 -6 )* ( 86400) kg/day = 0.112 kg/day
