When the researchers have a preference or aversion to a some people or their characteristics, but researchers don’t have conscious knowledge regarding these attitudes , it is called implicit bias.

Implicit bias can cause unintentional discrimination in wok places and organizations causing poor decision making. Also these biases have impact on recruitment, mentoring and promotions , hampering women’s equality in terms of selection and progression to high level managerial and leadership roles.

It helps the new hires to

• identify what is and how is the intentional bias exists
• understand own implicit biases
• get a plan to push their own bias aside while decision making
• recognize the negative impact of it on the organization
