The animals in land needs more energy for moving than that of animals in water. The evolutionary adaptation which supports this are following--
a) they have well developed closed circulatory system that means all parts of body is interconnected by blood vessels, artarty, veins. Which makes the oxygen supply in required rate in every part of the body.
b) the heart is divided into 4 chambers. As a result blood filled with oxygen and blood filled with CO2 are not mixed together.
c) they have well functional lungs which is responsible for the oxygen input and carbon dioxide release. More the cellular activity will occur more the Carbon dioxide will produced so it is highly required to remove those from the body.
