Sintering is the process of compacting and forming a solid mass of material by heat or pressure without melting it to the point of liquefaction. Sintering aids are one such functional additives/ dopants added that lead to the enhancement of the performance of densifying mechanism. It is used for the purpose of increasing the strength of material by bonding together to the particles. Recrystallisation and grain growth are the important processes that follow and the pores tend to become rounded and the total porosity as a percentage of the whole volume tends to decrease thus decreasing the temperature simultaneously, which helps in densifying the material.
