Question 1. The largest temperature change is produced by mixing 50 mL of 0.1 M HCl and 50 mL of 0.1 M NaOH, i.e. the volume ratio HCl:NaOH = 50:50 = 1:1

Explanation: At 1:1 volume ratio of HCl and NaOH, complete neutralization occurs, as a result, the largest temperature change is produced.

Question 2. The smallest temperature change is produced by mixing 90 mL of 0.1 M HCl and 10 mL of 0.1 M NaOH, i.e. the volume ratio HCl:NaOH = 90:10 = 9:1

Explanation: At 9:1 volume ratio of HCl and NaOH, only 10% of HCl gets neutralized, as a result, the smallest temperature change is produced.
