QALY is quality adjusted life year where the quality of life is improved with a particular of life and in this case the cost of ipilimumab per QALY is $100,000 which is not cost effective as compared to prasugrel. It is found that Prasugrel will have an higher average QALY at much less cost and hence it should be the most preferred addition to the formulary. The selection of Prasugrel over Ipilimumab is solely based on cost effectiveness.
