I. A) 1) skin is examined to check for any color and tone(uniform) and hyperpigmentation may occur, to know any unexpected or sudden changes on the skin may lead to disease or infection etc so checking the skin can warn us in the initial stage. 2)By owns self the self skin examination should be performed . 3)Frequency of self skin examination:is every monthly B)Define the ABCDE rule:A- asymmetrica(shape should be the same on both sides)l , B-border(should not be blurry or have jagged edges), C- Color( shoudl not be more than one color), D- Diameter(spot should not be bigger than 1/4 inch), E-elevation(if mole is raised above the surace or uneven) C)Tools for self skin examination: a bright light, a full length mirror , hand mirror , two chairs or stools, a blow dryer, body maps and a pencil. II. A) the patient is explained that if self skin examination is done regularly then any abnormality is easily detected and treated and if it is not detected initially then the curing will be complicated . B) 1) demonstrating the order and body positoning for inspecting skin: examine the front and back infront of a full length mirror, and then look at the right and left sides with the arms raised , bend the elbows to look at the forearms and back of upper arm and palms and check the spaces between the fingers and the fingernails and sit down and look at the top of the thighs and shins and cheech the feet including the soles and the spaces between the toes and then use th e handheld mirror to see the back of the thighs and calves and the bottom of the feet and then use a handheld mirror to check the back and buttocks and use a handheld mirror to check the back of the necck and scalp and hair and consider using a hair dryer for a better look. 2) normal skin characteristics are good balance of moisture , small pores and an even tone if the goal of most skin care regimes . 3)moles ecchymosis, benign moles tags frecckles etc.
