Answer #1

Answer : the increasing order of ionic character is as follows.

N2< ClF3< FeO< KCl < BaF.

explanation:

The ionic character increases as according to the electronegativity difference between two bonded atom increases.

The bond will be more ionic if the electronegativity difference between both atom is higher. While, the bond will be more covalent if the electronegativity difference between two atoms is small.

As in case of periodic table, on moving from left to right in a period the electronegativity increases while in a group from moving bottom to top electronegativity increases, consequently bond formed will be more ionic.

coming to given question-

the first step is to calculate the electronegativity difference between atoms.

And then arrange them in increasing order as it is done.
