thus

heat absorbed by calorimeter = mass of H2O x specific heat x rise in temperature

= [100 mlx 1g/mL] x 4.184J/g.C x[28.6-23.1]C

= 2301.2 J

If 0.645g of Mn on reaction gives -2301.2 J of heat

one mol ( 55g/mol) gives heat = 55g/mol x -2301.2 J /0.645g =196226. 35J of heat

= 196.23 kJ
